Dear Partners in Mission,

Over the past few years our Haitian affiliate, Beyond Borders, has created a wonderfully effective Christian education program called Living Words, which regularly involves thousands of disadvantaged men and women in Bible-centered leadership training. By raising up a more enlightened generation of indigenous leaders, Living Words has the potential to generate a spiritual revolution in that desperate country.

I wish I could fly you to Haiti and show you firsthand what our missionaries are doing. Instead, I will ask you to picture in your mind the profound things that are happening.

Imagine yourself poor and illiterate, sitting under a palm tree, having just heard a Bible passage read aloud when, for the first time ever, a respected teacher asks what you think God is saying to you through the Scriptures.

Now imagine yourself one of nine Haitian women sitting in a circle beside a corn field, singing beautifully and studying the Bible as a small group. Six of your friends are illiterate, but this new approach allows them all to participate equally.

Finally, imagine yourself among a group of pastors and young church leaders gathered together in the village of Dabon. Together you are learning methods that will enable you to nourish your congregations by giving your people a better way to interact with each other as they study God's Word. You are learning methods that can be used with churches, youth groups, Sunday schools, and families, and that will also enable the members of your congregation to invite seekers who don't attend church to join their study groups.

Amazing, isn't it? Our workers in Haiti have not only created a Living Words program for adults, but also a second program for children. Right now they are looking for funding to print 5,000 copies of each of these programs because requests to start up new study groups are pouring in from all over the country.

Don't tell me that this ministry isn't worth your investment. I don't mean to brag, but Living Words is probably the biggest bang you can get anywhere for your missionary dollars. That's why I am asking you to give generously! This wonderful new program is exploding in size and effectiveness, so we need for you to get behind it 100%. I am enclosing a little brochure to give you more information.and to remind you that we need your help right away!
