TONY'S NEWSLETTER

DECEMBER 2006

Dear Partners and Friends,

Please accept the enclosed book as our Christmas gift. Bart and I wrote it a number of years ago, but it was only recently reprinted by a publisher in the United Kingdom. Hopefully, it will give you a glimpse of who we are and what we believe, and how we came to share the values and convictions that guide the ministry of EAPE. More importantly, you will find in these pages an honest account of the issues and problems that arose between us as Bart was coming of age and I was trying to figure out how to nurture him into a man of faith with a commitment to service.

Many parents and children face these same issues and problems today, which is why Bart and I think this book still can be helpful. Over the years people have told us over and over again how much it has meant to them in the midst of their own parent-child struggles. In many ways it is a "feel good" book, which is the main reason we are sending it to you. After all you’ve done for us and for EAPE, making you feel good is what we are hoping for this Christmas.

For Bart and me and all of us at EAPE, this is a time of great gratitude. We are so thankful for the gifts and prayers that make you partners in all the good works of our missionaries around the world. They have brought hope and help to thousands of God’s poorest children. They have preached the good news of the gospel. And in Haiti, Africa and inner-cities cities across North America they themselves have also been positively transformed into radical disciples of Christ. Their sacrificial service for some of the neediest people in the world has made them deserving of your support, and right now there is a special need for you to encourage them.

The ministries we support have become more solid and more extensive than ever before and that is why we need you to give graciously to help our missionaries keep doing what God has called them to do. So much depends on how you respond!

Sincerely,

Tony Campolo
